Explanation of main test indicators of PTFE products

There are 10 common anti-corrosion materials, and the following introduces their applicable media and features:

1. Polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE (F4)

1. Applicable medium: strong acid, strong alkali, strong oxidant, organic solvent, etc. Working temperature: ≤180°C

2. Features: Excellent chemical stability, high heat resistance and cold resistance; low friction coefficient, excellent self-lubricating material, poor fluidity and large thermal expansion. Its unique properties are beyond the reach of other materials, so PTFE is known as the “plastic king” and is the most corrosion-resistant material in the world today.

2. Soluble polytetrafluoroethylene (PFA)

1. Applicable medium: strong acid, strong alkali, strong oxidant, organic solvent, etc. Working temperature: ≤180°C

2. Features: It is a new type of fluorine-containing resin similar to F46. It is a new variety developed to overcome the difficulty of processing and forming polytetrafluoroethylene, and completely maintains the excellent performance of polytetrafluoroethylene. Good mechanical and electrical insulation properties, outstanding heat resistance and low friction coefficient, flame retardant, low smoke and good atmospheric resistance. The biggest advantage is that it is easier to shape.

3. Polyperfluoroethylene propylene FEP (F46)

1. Applicable medium: any organic solvent or reagent, dilute or inorganic acid, alcohol, ketone, aromatic hydrocarbon, chlorinated hydrocarbon, etc. Working temperature: ≤180°C

2. Features: The mechanics, electrical properties and chemical stability are basically the same as those of F4, but the outstanding advantage is that the impact toughness is high, even if the notched sample is rushed continuously, it has excellent weather resistance and radiation, and is easy to shape and process. It is a fluorine-containing resin developed to overcome the difficulty in forming polytetrafluoroethylene. In addition to the use temperature lower than F4, it maintains the excellent properties of polytetrafluoroethylene.

4. Polychlorotrifluoroethylene PCTFE (F3)

1. Applicable medium: various organic solvents, inorganic etching liquids (oxidizing acids). Working temperature: ≤120°C

2. Features: heat resistance, electrical properties and chemical stability are second only to F4, mechanical strength, creep resistance, hardness is better than F4.

5, polyvinylidene fluoride PVDF (F2)

1. Applicable medium: resistant to most chemicals and solvents. Working temperature: ≤120°C

2. Features: Tensile strength and compressive strength are better than F4, good bending and cold flow resistance; weather resistance, radiation resistance, light resistance and anti-aging, etc. The biggest feature is strong adhesion, good toughness and easy forming.

6, modified polypropylene (GXPP)

1. Applicable medium: a rare or concentrated solution of an aqueous solution of an inorganic salt, an inorganic acid or an alkali. Working temperature: ≤100°C

2. Features: It is one of the lightest plastics. Its yield, tensile and compressive strength and hardness are better than low-pressure polyethylene. It has outstanding rigidity, good heat resistance, easy molding and low cost. After the modification, the impact, fluidity, and flexural modulus of elasticity are improved.

7. Modified polyolefin (GXPO)

1. Applicable medium: various concentrations of acid and alkali salts and some organic solvents. Working temperature: ≤110°C

2. It is the most ideal high-quality material in the world for anti-corrosion, anti-static, non-toxic and high-strength. It has been widely used in large-scale rotating equipment and valves and pipes for lining. Widely used in chemical, metallurgical, food, transportation, pharmaceutical, textile and other industries.

8, polyvinyl chloride (hard) PVC

1. Applicable medium: water resistant, concentrated alkali, non-oxidizing acid, chain hydrocarbon, oil and ozone. Working temperature: ≤60°C

2. Features: high mechanical strength, chemical stability and dielectric properties, oil resistance and aging resistance are also excellent, easy to weld and bond, the price is lower.

9. Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE)

1. Applicable medium: It can resist various corrosive media (except acid, alkali, salt, but oxidizing acid) and organic solvents. Working temperature: ≤100°C

2. Features: outstanding wear resistance, low friction coefficient and self-lubricating; excellent stress crack resistance, high temperature creep resistance and low temperature resistance; excellent tensile strength, extremely high impact strength. Excellent chemical stability and fatigue resistance; no adsorption on the surface, excellent electrical insulation; no comprehensive performance such as non-toxicity.

10, FRP (phenolic) FRP

1. Applicable medium: organic solvent, heat resistant oil, acid and brine. Working temperature: ≤120°C

2. Features: High mechanical properties, low friction coefficient under water lubrication, good electrical properties and low resistance to acid and alkali corrosion, not easily deformed by changes in temperature and humidity, easy to form and low in price.
